Sascia: A Genesis, was my thesis work I completed at the University of Kansas 2019-2022. The exhibition consisted of paintings and a stop-motion animation. Below is the exhibition statement.
Sascia: A Genesis is centered around a science-fiction fantasy that occurs on the fictional planet Sascia. Comprising of paintings and a stop-motion animation short film, the story is an iteration of my spirituality and the scale of human tenderness through sorrow that encompasses our existence. Although the story is immensely relatable to any viewer, the works contain unfamiliar imagery. A tactic that I concocted with the goal of being as inclusive to the audience as possible. It is a strong belief of mine that when we disengage with the familiar and engage with the unfamiliar, we can better understand ourselves and others. The work in this exhibition is sincerely meant for all to enjoy and investigate, and so I welcome you all to the mysterious world of Sascia where love transcends time.
Cheers,
Tristan Lindo

Sascia: A Genesis
Completed between 2021- and the beginning of 2022, I created the stop-motion animation that became the title of my thesis. For me, the process helped me to spread the visual narative across the animation and the paintings. This piece was the registration for keeping my fictional universe together. Working on this animation was lovely, and I look forward to making anther short-film animation.
