A Tale of Two Homes

Welcome to my current body of work, A Tale of Two Homes. This work is inspired by my childhood home and the home I have amongst my girlfriend, Tiana Nanayo Ku’uleialoha Honda, my family/friends, and myself. At the end of 2023 and beginning of 2024, I went on my very first ever airplane flight to visit Tiana’s home of Hilo, Hawai’i. It deeply inspired me, and I faced a fear I have had for a long time.

This year (2024) is going to be full of change. It is nothing new, for change is inevitable, but there has been a lot going on and I simply cannot ignore it. This work is an homage to the home I had in Garden City and to all the future homes I build with the ones I love.
